On Saturday morning, President Trump announced proposed 30% tariffs on EU imports, effective August 1, via Truth Social. This follows earlier proposals for Canada (35%) and copper (50%), and floated rates for pharmaceuticals and semiconductors still pending official confirmation.

Confirmed:

  • EU tariff proposal: 30% starting August 1
  • Section 232 tariffs on aluminum, steel, and auto parts remain in effect
  • UK is the only country with an official deal (10%)

⚠️ Still Unclear:

  • No Executive Orders yet for copper, pharmaceuticals, or semiconductors
  • Transshipment enforcement measures hinted at, but details missing
  • Additional 232 investigations include wood, trucks, and aircraft
