SUMMARY:Voka Business Club USA
DESCRIPTION:The United States is the largest economy in the world and a very important trading partner for Flemish companies. For both tech companies and manufacturing companies\, the U.S. offers huge potential. \n\n\n\nThis business club offers expertise and experience sharing during a short but intensive process. Starting from export to the US\, we end up opening a branch. Business culture\, regional differences\, agents/distributors\, export and incorporation formalities\, personnel\, taxation and financing… are discussed. \nEach session features both an expert and an entrepreneur with experience in the States. In addition\, there is room to share your own insights and questions in the group and to network with the other participants. \nDuring four sessions\, we will build a structured story that will enable you to make well-founded choices regarding an expansion to the States. \nThe following speakers will speak: \nYves Ghys (business culture)\, Ben Troch (taxes)\, JP Kalmeijer (business development)\, Koen Stessens (CEO Paneltim practical testimony)\, Philippe Miclotte (practical testimony ArcelorMittal in USA)\, Bernard Gravez (IP\, data sharing) and Hans Van Velzen (legal). The remaining speakers will be chosen according to the needs of the participants. \nThis project is a collaboration between East and West Flanders. The sessions take place alternately in the Ghent office and the Oostkamp or Kortrijk office. \n  \n\nVoka\, a Flemish network of companies\, was created in January 2004\, when the Flemish Economic Association and the eight regional Chambers of Commerce in Flanders decided to collaborate intensively in an alliance. Voka is the largest entrepreneurial network in Flanders and represents the interests of companies at the highest level. In addition\, we represent more than 18\,000 companies in Flanders and Brussels\, accounting for 65% of private employment\, 70% of added value in Flanders and 80% of exports. Voka has been working closely with 29 sector organizations since 2008\, which further strengthens the employer landscape.
